Renal Unit Manager - Mossel BayAbout the job Renal Unit ManagerRenal Unit Manager, Mossel BayOur Client, a Renal / Dialysis Clinic located in Mossel Bay is seeking to employ a Renal Unit Manager for the facility.Requirements:The unit manager should demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and has responsibility for all aspects of clinic and operations, patient / family, staff and provider satisfaction, quality and clinical dialysis care.Participate and manage various projects as directed by the clinical manager within reasonable timeframes related to patient care as well as quality control in the unit.Administration:Ensure that all patient documents are completed accurately and medico legally soundEnsure the billing department receives patient C&A complete with all necessary documentationEnsure authorisations are received for dialysis treatments for all patientsEnsure daily patient attendance lists are mailed to debtorsStaff supervision but ensuring that staff adhere to the code of conductCompiling to the weekly / monthly reportsDaily allocation of staff dutiesMonthly scheduling of staff to ensure that the clinic is covered at all timesFinance:Control staff costs in the unitControl of equipment by ensuring the effective utilization and care of machines and medical equipmentStock control in the unitAccountable for all expenses in the unitStaffing:Effective communication between staff and management ensuring the staff are kept informed and updated with developmentOrientation of newly appointed staffConduct annual evaluations sessionsAddressing staff issuesImplementation of infection control manuals including updating of immunization of staffFire escape protocolsCustomer Care:Recruitment and selectionFacilitating a conducive dialysis environmentMonitoring education programmesHandling customer care complainsStrategic Planning:Performing an annual situational analysis to determine the needs of the unitEnsuring the competitive edge by implementing best practice programmesStandby duties:Unit manger to be available 24 hours per dayPreferred Skills:The ability to interact effectively with patients and staffAn interest in patient education and problem- solving abilitySound knowledge of renal dialysis and related therapiesA significant scientific knowledge base and technical skillAbility to cope with stress and personal resiliencyGood communication skillsWorking hours:The renal unit is a fast pace and precision environment.Working hours are according to the unit specific needs and week- end work as per off duty RegisterOff duty register can change any time as per unit needsTo be available 24 hours dailyQualifications:B Tech Clinical Technologist (Nephrology)Registered with HPCSAN Dip Nursing/B Tech Nursing ScienceRegistered with SANCStart Date:October 2022Only candidates who meet all the minimum requirements stipulated in the advert, will be considered.
