Job Description

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a relevant tertiary qualification
• Minimum 8 years accounting experience, ideally in the agricultural industry, is essential
• Sound knowledge of cost and management accounts will be a distinct advantage
• Must be able to prepare financial information up to trial balance
• Experience with regards to statutory requirements of companies and trusts would be ideal
• Good communication and writing skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, are important
• Must be proficient in MS Office with good excel skills, including an accounting package
• Must have a valid drivers license with own reliable transport, and be willing to travel from time to time

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Understanding and interpreting management accounts.
• Managing inventory, assets and capital expenditure within the stipulated framework and policy.
• Participating in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly projections.
• Participating in the annual audit process and handling of audit related inquiries.
• Ensuring that internal control measures are implemented and maintained correctly.
• Providing support to group IT and BI Departments.
• Ensuring the implementation of SOPs and effectiveness of way of workings.
• Providing support and assistance to business units management teams with administration and financial related matters.
• Actively assist head office with the evaluation and upgrade of administrative and financial systems at business units.
• Providing support to the HR department, specifically wages and the preparation of salary information.
