Job Description
SUMMARY:
The ideal candidates will have a strong background in private sector developments, with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience working at a professional quantity surveying firm. The role involves delivering comprehensive cost management services on commercial and mixed-use construction contracts from inception to final account.
POSITION INFO:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, cost plans, and feasibility studies.
- Manage tender processes, including BOQ preparation, evaluation, and adjudication.
- Administer construction contracts (e.g., JBCC, FIDIC), including valuations and progress payments.
- Perform cost control and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site inspections and attend project meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Compile monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
- Prepare and agree final accounts with contractors.
- Provide contractual and procurement advice to clients.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a professional quantity surveying environment.
- Proven track record on commercial and mixed-use development projects in the private sector.
- BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution
- SACQSP registration (PrQS) is preferable.
- Proficient in QS software such as WinQS, BuildSmart, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of local construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or as part of a team.
