Job Specification: Quantity Surveyor Assistant/Estimator

Position Overview:

Experience:

Minimum 5 years in the Construction/Engineering Industry

Qualification:

Minimum of a Btech/Advanced Diploma in Quantity Surveying

Location:

Cape Town Harbour

Contract Period:

12 Month Contract (extension based on performance and client requirements)

Salary:

R 18,000.00 - R29,000.00 Gross

Working Hours:

Normal Working Hours:

07:00 - 15:00

Project Specific Working Hours:

07:00 - 19:00 including weekends and public holidays (projects range from 40 to 90 days) x 3 per year

Responsibilities:

Assist in Final Account verification (check contractor quotations against contract rates) Set up enquiry BOQ's from a scope of work Adjudication of tenders Prepare Contract BOQ's Administer Contract Variation Orders Manage enquiries for tender purposes Conduct site measures Process interim payments Prepare engineering estimates Perform cost reporting

Competency in Software:

MS Office 2013 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) - Required WinQS - advantageous, not a requirement DimX - advantageous, not a requirement SAP - advantageous, not a requirement Estimating software- advantageous, not a requirement Adobe- advantageous, not a requirement Requirements: Teamwork experience Attention to detail Deadline-driven Willingness to learn and build on existing experience

Additional Information:

Overtime and weekend work is mandatory and will be compensated No medical aid or pension provided Contract renewal based on performance and company needs Candidate to have no criminal record or pending criminal cases against them Successful Candidate to undergo police clearance check Successful Candidate will be subject to random drug testing during employment Candidate must have own transport
