Quality Inspector
to join our team.
Role Purpose:
The
Quality Inspector
is responsible for analyzing and verifying that manufactured foam products meet
SANS 9001:2015 / ISO 9001:2015
standards. This role ensures that every product leaving the factory complies with the highest levels of quality, performance, and safety.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Grade 12 with
Mathematics
Relevant post-school qualification in
quality or manufacturing
In-depth understanding of
SANS 9001:2015
and
ISO 9001:2015
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience
in a quality management or quality control role
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical thinker with solid problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Consistent and deadline-driven
Duties & Responsibilities
1. In-House Product Testing:
Conduct various foam material tests including core/block density, hardness, porosity, compression set, tensile strength, elongation, resilience, flammability, and ash content.
Perform visual inspections for defects (colour deviations, pinholes, splits, blade marks, etc.).
Verify block dimensions and check peeled rolls for consistency and quality.
Compile and sign off daily Quality Control Test reports and share with relevant stakeholders.
Generate daily and monthly quality reports based on production results.
Record block temperatures and maintain accurate tracking reports.
2. Quality Control:
Investigate and verify all returned products.
Test BFM production and record outcomes.
Ensure timely calibration and repair of testing equipment through liaison with external service providers.
3. Quality Assurance:
Maintain and implement quality management systems.
Recommend process improvements, conduct root cause analysis, and eliminate non-value-added activities.
Submit detailed weekly progress reports.
4. Compliance and Certification:
Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO and client-specific quality standards.
