As the Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising all aspects of quality control and assurance within our production environment. Your core responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of quality inspectors, conducting systematic audits, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with production, design, and operations teams to identify quality gaps, analyse data trends, and implement corrective and preventative actions. The role requires someone who is highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as you will be expected to champion quality excellence, resolve quality-related issues effectively, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Job Purpose:



We are seeking a meticulous and results-driven Quality Assurance Supervisor with a passion for excellence and a keen eye for detail. This role is pivotal in overseeing the entire quality assurance process across the organisation, with a strong focus on ensuring that all headwear products meet the highest internal and customer standards. The successful candidate will lead the QA team in conducting audits throughout all stages of production, coordinate with cross-functional departments to uphold quality benchmarks, and develop and implement robust quality management systems. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance, enhancing product integrity, and driving continuous improvement across the production value chain.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



Lead, supervise, and motivate the quality assurance team to ensure consistent application of quality standards across all production processes. Develop, implement, and maintain effective quality management systems and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections throughout all stages of production, including random quality checks during each shift, to identify defects and verify compliance. Analyze quality-related data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement; initiate corrective and preventive actions accordingly. Monitor daily production processes to ensure adherence to approved quality standards and proactively escalate any deviations or risks. Ensure the timely preparation, submission, and distribution of quality assurance report. Maintain active, ongoing communication with the QA team throughout each shift to identify, escalate, and resolve quality issues promptly. Conduct brief daily team huddles to align priorities, address challenges, and reinforce quality expectations. Spend dedicated time each day observing the sampling line to assess product construction from start to finish. Collaborate closely with production, operations, and design departments to resolve quality-related concerns and drive continuous improvement. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentorship to QA staff to build technical capabilities and maintain high performance levels. Ensure all inspection and testing protocols are followed, and that documentation is completed accurately and submitted promptly. Stay abreast of evolving industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory updates to ensure ongoing compliance. Support the resolution of customer complaints related to product quality, ensuring appropriate root cause analysis and follow-through on corrective actions.

Candidate Requirements:



Matric or equivalent qualification (NQF level 4). At least 3 years' experience in the clothing and textile industry. Clothing and textile industry qualification would be advantageous. Experience in manufacturing or production operations. Superior communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work flexible hours and/or shift work. Ability to lead and direct staff.
