Job Description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Matric certificate/ equivalent
Pump Fitter Trade Certificate or Fitter with S3/N6 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
A valid driver's license
Medically fit to work underground
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
5 years' experience as a Pump Fitter underground - install / repair and maintain the systems.
Strong background in Pump Systems with fault finding experience
Proficiency with hand/power tools, measuring instruments and potentially rigging/lifting gear.
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of engineering principles
Knowledge of Mine Health & Safety Act and Regulations
Effective communication skill.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance and corrective repairs including fault diagnosis, dismantling and reassembly.
Fit and align new pumps and components, ensuring structural integrity and correct sealing.
Conduct pressure testing and fault finding.
Able to read and understand relevant construction pipe design drawings.
Maintain detailed logs, reports and records for compliance, warranty, and future reference.
Adhere strictly to safety regulations and maintain a safe, clean work area.
