Project Manager (Engineering) required in Somerset West.

Africa's largest engineering and manufacturing company is looking for a Project Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in Somerset West, Cape Town.

Position Overview:

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.



Key duties include developing project plans, managing budgets, coordinating with teams like engineering and production, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations. They act as the central point of communication between different departments and external stakeholders.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree, Engineering will be advantageous Project management experience in the manufacturing industry essential Proficient in project management software tools (i.e. MS Project) Sound project management skills with project management qualification preferred. Expertise in manufacturing processes

Key Responsibilities

Planning and execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, define project scope, and manage project schedules to meet milestones and deliverables. Budget and resource management: Oversee project budgets, authorize expenditures, and manage resources effectively to ensure profitability. Team and stakeholder coordination: Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, and communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders. Quality and compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes and project outcomes comply with safety standards, quality control, and regulatory requirements. Process improvement: Monitor project key performance indicators (KPIs), identify opportunities for process improvement, and implement new or optimized manufacturing processes. Risk management: Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle. Contract negotiation: May participate in contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers.
