You will take on the responsibility to effectively care for our patients which includes assisting with diagnosis and treatment of day-to-day illnesses and monitor the treatment of chronic illnesses within the limits of legislation, ensuring medicines are distributed timeously and efficiently as well as conducting tests, record and where necessary send for further analysis and conduct ward rounds and recording progress.

More of your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure Nursing services are rendered timeously and efficiently
  • Assist with the prevention, investigations, management and monitoring of chronic diseases
  • Conduct ward rounds, completing nursing care plans and recording progress reports on Electronic Health Record system
  • Be part of onsite wellness committees and conduct onsite inductions
  • Actively participate in awareness campaigns on mine site, offsite Thungela operations and the local communities
  • Daily update on progress of clients seen each site
  • Direct Responsibility to Efficient Stock Control such as (Ordering of medicine and stores from pharmacy)
  • Ensure good pharmacy practice and monitoring of medication
  • Timeous calibration of working equipment
  • Regular inventory of assets
  • Monthly inventory report submission to supervisor
Qualifications
  • Diploma / Degree in Nursing (NQF level 7)
  • Registered with SANC as Professional Nurse
  • Nursing Specialty Relevant to Thungela Operations
Advantage
  • Certificate in PHC
  • Diploma in Occupational Health
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in Employees wellness programs and Occupational health
  • Knowledge of TB and HIV management(Certificate in Counselling and HCT)
Additional Information
  • Knowledge of nursing processes, procedures, and techniques
  • Understanding of safety management, behavioural safety and risk management framework, procedures, and systems
  • Good understanding of the related health care policies and procedures
  • Abreast of current medical standards and trends
