You will take on the responsibility to effectively care for our patients which includes assisting with diagnosis and treatment of day-to-day illnesses and monitor the treatment of chronic illnesses within the limits of legislation, ensuring medicines are distributed timeously and efficiently as well as conducting tests, record and where necessary send for further analysis and conduct ward rounds and recording progress.

More of your responsibilities will include:

• Ensures efficient and professional nursing care.
• Patient consultations in Outpatients Department, Emergency Department and all wards and ensuring all data is recorded on Electronic Health Record system and files
• Supervision of staff which includes delegating to subordinates, following up on tasks, ensuring adherence to policies and professional conduct of staff.
• Effective coaching and mentoring of staff.
• Effectively manage the stock which may include working on Pharmacy stock management system (Ordering of medicine and stores from pharmacy), record all medications removed from emergency stock, ward stock and small dispensary
• Reporting any breakages or damages as per procedure and ensuring storage of medicine is cleaned frequently
• Keeping record of equipment used in their department and ensuring calibration.
• Safety management which means identifying and reporting medical hazards as well as practising emergency planning and assisting with any emergencies

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Nursing (NQF level
• Registered with SANC as Professional Nurse
• Dispensing license

Advantageous

• NIMART (Nurse Initiated Management of Anti-Retroviral Therapy)
• Certificate/Diploma in Primary Health Care
• Diploma/ B Tech in Occupational Health

Knowledge & Experience

• Experience in Patient consultations either Wellness (Clinic setting) , Outpatients Department, Emergency unit or Ward
• Proficient knowledge on screening, link to care and follow up of Communicable and Non communicable diseases.
• Valid Driver's License and advanced Driving

Additional Information

• Knowledge of nursing processes, procedures, and techniques
• Understanding of safety management, behavioural safety and risk management framework, procedures, and systems
• Good understanding of the related health care policies and procedures
• Abreast of current medical standards and trends
