Job Description

KEY COMPETENCIES
1. Diploma in Production Management or mechanical/Industrial/Chemical Engineering Degree
2. Recognized Trade (advantageous)
3. Electro Coating (advantageous)
4. Minimum of 10 years experience in a management position in a manufacturing concern
5. A working knowledge of IATF16949 Quality Management System.
6. Knowledge and experience of LEAN manufacturing concepts and processes
7. Ability to read and understand technical drawings
8. Sound knowledge of a fully integrated IT system, preferably SYSPRO & Shopware
9. Computer literacy - Advanced (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
10. A comprehensive understanding of the financial aspects of a business.
11. Personal attributes: strong leadership skills, confident, strong interpersonal and communication skills, motivated, resilient, manages stress well, prioritization & time management
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:-
1. Management of subordinates in line with designated KPIs, work instructions/procedures and quality standards
2. Full responsibility for plant manufacturing activities including safety.
3. Manage and control facility, materials, methods, quality and equipment.
4. Accountable for the efficient, safe and profitable operation and production of the plant at a minimum cost
5. Compiling budget for Production unit (including CAPEX requests and prioritization/control of spend)
6. Management and oversight of production planning to ensure maximum utilization of plant resources to best effect whilst maintaining customer deliverables and quality standards
7. Ensure efficient use and management of human resources.
8. Implementation of LEAN Manufacturing principles & a Continuous Improvement mindset in the plant
9. Facilitate and oversee daily / weekly / monthly reporting
