Komatsu South Africa has an amazing opportunity in the Remanufacturing Division at our Germiston branch, for a Manager: Reman Production that provides expert technical advice internally and to customers, in support of Komatsu Mining Products. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 years working experience within a manufacturing/ Engineering or mining environment within Production and 3 years supervisory experience (an advantage), a Mechanical Engineering Degree plus experience of Komatsu products/heavy earth moving equipment in a mining environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Mechanical Engineering Degree (if B.Tech - 10 years' experience)
An additional management diploma an advantage
EXPERIENCE:
6 - 10 years' experience in manufacturing/engineering/mining environment within Production.
3 years of supervisory experience- managing a team of people directly.
Sound technical track record
Business Experience focus, rather than pure technical
High computer literacy

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
Plans and maintains the production schedule
Manages staff productivity and output of the remanufacturing division
Drives a strong continuous improvement program in the production environment
Collaborates and communicates effectively and constructively with all stakeholders both internal and external
Focus on customer liaison, provides technical expertise and advise to all stakeholders both internal and external
Plans, maintains and reports on the the production budget
Participate in the planning session of the departmental section budget
Implements and manages budget for the department
Checks and controls/expense against approved operating budget
Prepares and submits deviations from department's budget plans
Responds to audit queries regarding financial transactions
Submits staff S&T and overtime/expense claims for approval
Develop/maintain report cost contain/management
Makes recommendations for Corporate Governance related controls and standards, and procedures
Provides validated information for inclusion in statutory and other reports
Reports any deviations from acceptable norms, approved procedures and practices
Drafts Terms of Reference/Specification documents
Liaises with key stakeholders/service providers and suppliers
Manages ethical supplier relationships
Documents changes & renewals of contracts
Informs subordinate staff of contractual details/terms/policies & procedures
Resolves contractual compliance issues/problems
Monitors supplier risk
Monitors contractual compliance
Reports on issues/problems and concerns
