Job Summary REPORTING STRUCTURE The position forms part of the middle management team and reports to the Operations Manager. The person would manage a team of 10 15 people. (Artisans and technicians) QUALIFICATIONS Minimum requirements: Grade 12 Trade tested Advantageous: Diploma Mech / Elec Eng / Mechatronics BEng Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Production Management Qualification EXPERIENCE Requirements Managing a team of multiple discipline artisans and technicians. (Mechanical, electrical and instrumentation) Experience in managing the mechanical discipline is a minimum requirement. Hydraulic fitting pumps, valves, motors etc. Component assembly Mining and mining machinery exposure Experience in lean manufacturing principles Metal processing bending, cutting, punching Pumps water and hydraulic Vehicle body building and standards Standards knowledge Diesel installations, piping, MDG (Mine Design Guidelines), OHS Act, HAZOP, Risk Assessments Basic machining drilling, tapping, milling, line boring Basic control systems and PLC programming Electrical control circuit design Mechanical drive systems couplings etc. Diesel engines installation and setting PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES High level of energy and personal drive Passion for quality and engineering excellence Demonstrated experience and achievements in leading a multi-disciplinary technical team.
