Product Category Manager
, based in Hermanus. The position reports
to the Chief Commercial Officer.
JOB PURPOSE:
To oversee and optimize sales performance of the live abalone product category. Will be required to
analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor strategies to optimise sales and
profitability for live abalone sales. Build strong customer relations and implement new competitive
sales strategies and plans. Support the team in developing new markets / customers throughout the
company's full product range.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Market intelligence:
Collect, analyse and report.
Market development:
Support CCO to expand into new geographic regions with existing products,
targeting new customers / sales channels / market sectors.
Sales and Profitability:
Analyzing sales data, monitoring performance, and identifying areas for
improvement to maximize revenue and profit.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Working with and building strong relationships with finance, farms,
and other teams to implement strategies and achieve live category goals.
Relationship management:
Build and maintain strong relationship with service providers and
customers, providing excellent customer service.
Live Abalone Sales:
Support, planning, execution and administration pertaining to product category
sales incl. forecasting, order generation, product allocation, logistics, shipments.
Financial Management:
Annual budgeting, invoicing and commission calculations, optimization of
freight and transportation costs, forecasting and month-end reporting.
Reporting, Analysis and Audits:
Weekly and monthly sales performance reports, sales analysis,
internal and external audit support, monthly and quarterly sales target reports to customers.
Staff management:
Ensure excellent performance of all team members.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:
Minimum qualification - Bachelor's degree in business, marketing and/or related field.
Experience in the field of sales and customer relationships is essential.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with fluency in English and ability to write reports.
Proficiency in all modules of MS Office Suite.
Focussed on accuracy and quality.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Willingness to work and operate in a 24/7 working environment within a structured framework -
operationally driven.
Flexibility to adapt to changing market dynamics and business priorities.
Driver's license and own reliable transport. Ability and willingness to travel abroad.
