Our client in the Business' Consultants sector based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ a Procurement Project Leader.

The Procurement Project Leader will lead a client portfolio to deliver profitable projects for the company, providing commercial leadership, direction and support to the project teams. The role will also build and maintain a strong network of senior relationships ensuring we represent our brand effectively and generate additional business opportunities through increased scope of work.

Requirements:

• At least 6 years senior procurement experience, preferably as a procurement project leader or senior buyer in a major company.
• Experience of managing and delivering projects for the Board of mid to large companies.
• Selling in projects that challenge traditional thinking whilst securing engagement and alignment from senior management.
• The ability to manage, motivate and develop project teams.
• Be able to identify, nurture and focus the skills of others to achieve the companyxe2x80x99s goals.
• Strong track record of savings delivery within a high spend environment.
• Energy, drive, determination and enthusiasm and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Keen commercial business sense.
• Tenacious in approach to achieving targets xe2x80x93 both personal and team targets.
• Good understanding of supply chain and procurement practices.
• Trustworthy and discrete when handling confidential information. Smart appearance and professional manner.
• Enjoyment of networking and meeting new people.
• Have a strong academic background (Minimum Degree Educated).
• Inspire confidence such that they would be an ambassador for the company.
• Be keen to learn and contribute their ideas.

Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:

• Take ownership and commercial accountability for delivery of the projects.
• Manage and maintain agreed ROI targets through careful management of resource versus anticipated project income.
• Take responsibility for the financial reporting of each project within the client portfolio, effectively communicating all financial aspects of the project plan to the CFO and Client Director.
• Manage the project within agreed timescales in line with company framework, brand standards and values.
• Lead and coach project teams to ensure that all company team members on the project have the experience and skills to complete projects xe2x80x98On time in Fullxe2x80x99.
• Build and maintain motivation, innovation and energy within the project team and help to develop their relationship with the client stakeholders, in order to enhance the companyxe2x80x99s brand through the successful delivery of the clientsxe2x80x99 objectives.
• Develop and deliver category initiatives personally, as required, as part of the project deliverable, ensuring On-Time In-Full delivery to company quality standards.
• With the Commercial accountant, manage and maintain agreed return on investment targets through careful management of resource versus anticipated project income.
• Proactively develop the clientxe2x80x99s understanding of all companyxe2x80x99s services and actively promote and secure appropriate additional work.
• Develop and deliver category approach strategies personally when required injecting innovation and creativity of approach.
• Be able to support and develop other team members through mentoring and coaching.
• Consistently be an ambassador for the company brand.
• Take time out to complete training or learn from other team members.
• Identify possible contacts or leads within existing potential or target organization.
