My client, a leading and well known company based in saldanha on the west Coast (120km from Cape town) is looking for a dynamic and experienced Procurement Officer.
This position is reporting t the Procurement Manager.
PURPOSE: To buy goods and services in support of the operation activities of the Maintenance Department
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree or Diploma in Purchasing Management
Technical qualifications will be advantageous.
At least 5 years experience in a buyer capacity in related industry
Exposure to import terms and conditions.
Strong conflict management skills and experience of negotiations
Experience of supplier relationship management and excellent negotiation skills
Superior customer service skills and strong administrative skills
Excellent analytic abilities, planning, decision making skills and ability to read, interpret and compile reports.
Computer literacy- MS Office (with a high proficiency in MS Excel)
Able to deal with all levels of management and suppliers.
Work independently and as part of a team
SA Citizens only
Must be Criminal and Credit Clear
Must reside in Saldanha or be willing to relocate
OUTPUTS & MEASUREMENTS:
Duties include but will not be limited to:
Award orders for maintenance work in conjunction with the Maintenance Superintendents of the vessels.
Understand and compare technical quotes.
Negotiate pricing based on quotes and work done.
Impose penalties based on agreed terms.
Analyze spend and improve the sourcing process to maximize quality of work and minimize cost. Select and source from suppliers in line with Preferential Procurement targets.
Follow-up on outstanding orders and attend to account queries.
Be fully conversant with current market prices of all items required.
