Job Description

My client, a leading and well known company based in Saldanha on the West Coast (120km fro Cape Town) requires a competent and experienced financial manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will be accountable to the Managing Director from an Operational point of view and the Shareholders as the Company Secretary of the Board. To qualify for this position the most suitable candidate must fulfill the following requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or Related fields and/or an Equivalent Qualification as per the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and RPL SAQA would be considered.

Must have a CA qualification with registration at SAICA.

Minimum of 10 years extensive experience in financial management, auditing, accounting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, financial analysis and reporting within a Manufacturing, Engineering or Production environment. Sound knowledge of banking environment, loans and warranties.

Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practices (IFRS), auditing, financial markets and regulatory requirements.

Advance proficiency in financial software such as and excel and MS Windows programmes. Experience in risk management and financial instruments.

Proven track record of success in financial management and strategic planning.

Must reside on the West Coast (Vredenburg/Langebaan/Saldanha) or be willing to relocate

Basic/Brief Job Functions/Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.

Advise on investment /borrowing activities and provide strategies that the company should take. Maintain the financial health and sustainability of the organization, by liaising and ensuring the existing and necessary Financing facilities are maintained and/or extended and/or amended with Lenders with investment and banking institutions.

Analyze costs, pricing, variable contribution, sales results and the companys actual performance compared to the business plans.

Develop trends and projections for the companys finances that support growth and profitability.

Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate reporting of company finances.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure that financial goals are aligned with overall business objectives and achieved.

Liaises with SARS and perform required actions as Public Officer of the Company, i.e. VAT, Company Tax,Transfer Pricing etc. In addition to the above the successful candidate must also have the following attributes:

Excellent planning, communication and leadership skills.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide and lead subordinates to ensure appropriate financial and other relevant processes and procedures are followed.
