Job Description


The Procurement Manager role involves meticulous planning and timely supply of ingredients, aligning closely with key stakeholders such as the MD, Technical Manager, Operations Director, Production Manager, and QC Manager. This position plays a crucial role in forecasting, evaluating, and revising ingredient requirements based on firm orders and revised projections. Additionally, the Procurement Manager maintains strong business relationships with suppliers, identifies new potential suppliers, and engages collaboratively with the technical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and ensure a timely supply of ingredients for feed manufacturing projections and orders every quarter.
  • Perform revised projections based on firm orders and re-evaluate the adequacy of a wide range of feed ingredients.
  • Conduct medium to long-term planning with suppliers.
  • Maintain business relationships with suppliers and identify potential new suppliers in conjunction with the technical team.
  • Administer all documentation relevant to category quality assurance and conformance.
  • Support internal and external audit processes and provide any necessary documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum qualifications: Grade 12 with mathematics and science, with commerce as an added advantage.
  • A degree or National Diploma in logistics or supply chain management will be beneficial.
  • Preferably 4 years of experience in the food or feed industry with exposure to supply chain, warehouse, procurement, and planning management.
  • Strong commercial understanding, negotiating skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software.
  • Understanding of economic indicators, cost drivers, and cost analysis.
