Procurement Manager Procurement ~ Supply Chain
Durban - KwaZulu Natal - South Africa

Our client, a giant in their field, is a well-known South African listed company, has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Procurement Manager to develop & implement policies & procedures that align with the group requirements, & also support the company strategy in terms of cost reduction, compliance, & service / product quality.

Requirements:

  • BCom in Supply Chain or Business Administration
  • 15 years' experience in: Procurement management, leading procurement projects, contract management, & managing budgets
  • 5 years' experience in: Senior management experience, leading multiple teams within Africa, & working in a cross-functional team
  • Must have own vehicle & valid drivers' license
Key Performance Areas:

Manage Procurement Projects Which Includes:
  • Propose project initiatives in conjunction with the executive for approval
  • Engage with the relevant internal / external stakeholders to ensure a full understanding of the tender & business requirements is obtained
  • Prepare project charters for these initiatives, including clear time lines for the full cycle of the project, clear targets, expected outcomes, & regular status updates
  • Prepare professional tender documents
  • Facilitate tender presentations
  • Consolidate tender submissions & present outcomes to the tender committee
  • Award & implementation of tenders, including formal hand over to the business with service level agreements
  • Regular review of supplier performance
  • Ensure the company achieves the BBBEE targets & prepare the necessary information for the annual BBBEE verification
Develop Procurement Policies:
  • Develop & implement policies & procedures
Manage Vendors:
  • Sourcing & engaging reliable suppliers / vendors
  • Building & maintaining long-term relationships with suppliers / vendors
  • Monitoring performance against SLAs
  • Ensuring that the correct suppliers / vendors are used at the right price
  • Manage annual supplier / vendor increases
Manage Contracts for the Division:
  • Negotiate contract terms & conditions on a range of central contracts & monitor performance against these contracts
  • Performing risk assessments on proposed contracts & agreements
  • Review of contract terms & conditions
  • Manage the credit application process & be responsible for the opening & closing of supplier accounts
  • Approve costs in line with the Limits of Authority
People Management:
  • Manage resourcing the department with adequately qualified & skilled personnel
  • Coordinate training & development
  • Conduct performance management of staff
