Job Description

We are looking for a detail-driven and organised Procurement & Imports Officer to join our Procurement Department. In this role, you will manage the company's import processes and oversee selected local suppliers to ensure that high-quality materials and components are sourced at competitive prices.

You will coordinate efficient and compliant international logistics, working closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and internal teams. The position requires strong administrative skills, excellent communication, and a high level of accuracy.

Key responsibilities include creating and issuing Purchase Orders (POs) in Syspro, maintaining up-to-date procurement records, and ensuring the timely availability of critical materials to support smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Procurement



Manage purchase orders in Syspro, ensuring correct pricing and details. Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers. Source quotes, track supplier performance, and support cost-saving initiatives. Coordinate with Quality and Engineering on NCRs, specifications, and supplier issues.

2. Imports & International Logistics



Coordinate all import shipments (air, sea, courier) and liaise with freight forwarders. Handle all customs and compliance documentation (SARS, ITAC, HS codes, invoices). Track shipments end-to-end and resolve delays, queries, and documentation issues. Keep internal teams updated on shipment progress and arrival timelines.

3. Landed Costing & Financial Accuracy



Calculate landed costs (duties, VAT, freight, clearance, insurance) and capture them in Syspro. Verify shipping and customs invoices for accuracy. Prepare cost summaries and variance reports to support pricing and budgeting.

Requirements:



Essential



Relevant qualification. Demonstrated experience with imports, international logistics, and landed cost calculations. Strong Excel proficiency, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis. Understanding of customs documentation, HS codes, duties, and freight processes. Strong administrative accuracy and attention to detail. Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Advantageous



Practical experience in Syspro, particularly: Purchase Order processing Supplier management Inventory and costing modules Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
