Job Description


This position is responsible for stock replenishments across the depots and is required to 1. review & implement the inventory policy, 2. defining the minimum and maximum stock levels for each location and 3. track, expedite and report on the adherence of the 3PL providerxe2x80x99s performance against the deployment plan. Warehouse space management. Reporting on Stock on hand to commercial.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Deployment Planning

  • Manage the supply of finished goods through the network
  • Plan the deployment to the depots considering stock availability, current stock levels in the depots, warehouse space, truck utilization and lead time considerations
  • Monitor warehouse space and allocation of stock across depots
  • Manage the balance between working capital, resulting in service levels and expired stock
  • Set and manage optimal inventory policies and process
  • Develop the load plans for primary distribution to minimise logistics and transportation costs
  • Manage short-dated stock from the warehouses to clearance customers
Primary Transport
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient execution of the deployment schedule
  • Monitor service levels issues in the network
  • Peak and holiday planning with 3PL Primary transport and depots
  • Proactive and frequent communication to improve visibility of operations to stakeholders
  • Various reporting and monitoring requirements
  • Work flexible hours along with the needs of the supply chain.
  • Various supply chain projects/initiatives
Controls
  • Monitor adherence to the deployment schedule
  • Monitor service levels issues in the network
  • Focal point for implementation of inventory policies
  • To efficiently deploy to minimize primary cost in coordination with Logistics by:
  • Elimination of reverse deployment.
  • Planning of full loads for transfers.
Reporting
  • Report daily and weekly on stock levels across the network, highlighting any issues to other departments in Supply Chain
  • Reporting daily and weekly on primary deployment plan adherence
  • Assist in benchmarking of warehouse capacities for packed products, specifically how much to be stored at each location
  • Provides the business with updates and critical reports
  • Proactively identifying and communicating OOS risks that could impact business performance
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain critical cross functional working relationship within and between the Supply planning, Demand Planning and Logistics teams
  • Build and maintain critical working relationship with Regional Sales managers and Clearance Customers
  • Contribute actively to company projects and project teams
KEY REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

Qualification(s)
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Engineering
Experience and Skills
  • 5 to 6 Yearsxe2x80x99 experience in supply chain operations or planning , preferably in FMCG
  • Thorough knowledge of the end-to-end supply chain processes, and inter-relationship between activities
  • Basic replenishment planning understanding
  • Supply Chain/Logistics Principles
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Previous experience in working with SAP is an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, MS Windows and MS Excel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advantageous:
  • A thorough understanding of all supply chain principles and processes
  • User knowledge of SAP
  • WMS experience
