LOCATION: Cape Town

Our client, a global investment company is focussed on building long-term wealth for their clients. The company's primary goal is to achieve long term wealth creation for its clients.

They now seek a lead resource planner to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • You will be required to be an experienced resource planner, with a strong analytical mindset to take ownership of the operational resource planning function;
  • You will be required to build a tight-knit team of specialists around them and implement effective team processes, while providing accurate, timely resourcing analytics to business stakeholders;
  • You will be required to own the development and delivery of a new analytical model that is designed to respond to the varying changes of a complex resourcing landscape;
  • You will be required to have the technical know-how to develop a resourcing data model that is responsive to changing inputs, such as legislative changes, employee leave, training schedules, product changes and the like;
  • You will be required to coordinate a team of resource planning specialists to ensure the alignment of key metrics and processes and to ensure the continuity of the resource planning function across all operational business units through the documenting of critical processes, team knowledge shares, and clear stakeholder communication;
  • You will be required to employ project management skills to manage strategic deliverables, as well as the creation of a roadmap for the building, testing and roll-out of these deliverables;
  • You will be required to work with a range of tools, predominantly Power BI, Excel and SQL, to produce an effective resource planning model and visualisations that represent and communicate KPIs associated with the function;
  • You are self motivated and driven to achieve the goals you set with the manager and the team. You take initiative and are courageous enough to hold others and yourself to a high standard, both in terms of your work as also the company values.
CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
  • You are able to display leadership ability;
  • You are confident presenting to management;
  • You are able to foster communication and awareness of the resource planning function between the team and business stakeholders;
  • You are able to think strategically about the resource planning model and its future applications;
  • You are proactive and a self-starter;
  • You are able to manage a complex people landscape to coordinate for hiring, training, sick leave, as well as build margin for unforeseen instances that may impact operational workload;
  • You are highly analytical and have a keen eye for detail.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • You have a minimum of 2 - 5 years' current, relevant experience in capacity planning and / or forecasting in a services driven business; not manufacturing or parastatal;
  • You have experience in a performance or data analysis - this would be a distinct advantage;
  • You are able to effectively coordinate a team of resource planning specialists to provide exemplary service to business stakeholders;
  • You have the administrative ability to create, manage and prioritise work items and requests into a working backlog;
  • You have an advanced Excel, SQL and Power BI skillset;
  • You have Python, R and / or statistical modelling experience - this would be highly advantageous.

You are skilled and a specialist in this area and look to lead a team that will ensure resourcing model is appropriate and delivered upon. You are friendly, a good communicator and someone who takes pride in their work and themselves.
