Postdoctoral Researcher
Job Description
The project focusses on bioproducts, such as biohydrogen, biosurfactants, and others using various biocatalysts.
Minimum requirements for the role:
Must have a Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related PhD.
Relevant experience with micro-organism cultivation is required.
Must have strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy is important for this role.
Must be analytical with good report writing skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Performing microbial growth experiments, including analyses such as optical density readings, pigment analysis, etc
subculturing microbial strains, preparing media
General laboratory administration, maintenance and operation
Sourcing consumables required and placing orders from approved suppliers.
Assisting the senior research students with general laboratory administration
Checking consumables levels and ordering replacements
Analysing data, and compiling reports
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: R20000,00 - R30000,00 per month
