Our client has an opportunity available for a Pit Superintendent based in the Northern Cape.

Requirements:

National Senior Certificate.
A Diploma or Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering will be advantageous.
Must have an open pit blasting or rock breaking certificate.
Legal Liability
5+ years' experience in an open pit mining environment.
2+ years' supervisory experience.
Must have proven experience with open pit heavy equipment fleet, open pit operations and mechanical inclined.
Valid driver's license.
Must be medically fit and able to pass a medical examination.

Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations as set out in the mine policies.
Monitor performance by means of reports, charts, graphs, studies, and visual inspections.
Execute planned production activities.
Ensure targets are achieved.
Conduct pre-shift meetings and inspections of work areas.
Ensure machinery is kept in good working condition.
Conduct overtime and leave management.
Ensure compliment is managed in line with budget.
Ensure subordinates' KPIs are clearly defined.
