Job purpose

As the Plant Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the efficient and safe operation of our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry regulations and quality standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your role will involve managing a team of skilled professionals, optimising production processes, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical products. The position is both strategic and tactical in nature and will drive rapid, measurable, and sustained continuous improvement for the manufacturing site. To ensure the Factory senior team KPIs are achieved in accordance with the sites annual Operational and Financial targets as set by the Executive Leadership.

Required Learning :

B Pharma, BSc Engineering / B Tech/ National Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

GCC (Government Certificate of Competence) an advantage

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including 10 years' senior leadership experience in manufacturing operations spanning across human capital, and quality assurance functions.

Key Job Outputs

Develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the manufacturing facility. Align short- medium and long-term objectives for the manufacturing site functions to support overall company goals and objectives. Lead and manage a team of cross-functional production staff, ensuring efficient resource allocation and optimal performance measured through outputs. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines. Implement and monitor production schedules to meet sales forecasts and optimise resource utilisation.Continuously assess manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness whilst being proactive in anticipating hurdles to performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance/Control, Supply Chain, and R&D, to ensure seamless operations and product development. Manage budgeting and cost control for the manufacturing facility across all areas impacting on the Divisional P&L. To construct Capital Expenditure motivations reflecting deep insights on key success factors and criticality to exercise. Create a performance climate where people at all levels are held accountable for delivery of their commitments. Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety protocols to minimise accidents and ensure employee well-being. Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement within the manufacturing facility.Ensure a strong quality culture is at the heart of all site activities.

Core Competencies
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, regulations, and quality standards.
Proven track record of successfully managing a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, including expertise in production planning, resource allocation, and process optimisation.
Ability to think and operate strategically as it relates to manufacturing and operations.
Experience in implementing and maintaining cGMP guidelines and quality systems.
Sound understanding of manufacturing cost control and budget management.
Proficient in analysing production data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Experience in managing manufacturing functions in a unionized workforce environment, plant utilization analysis, work scheduling and capacity planning
Sound understanding of ESG principles in line with manufacturing practices
Interpersonal Skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to various stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships.
