Responsibilities
Underwriting and Policy Management
Issue and process new business, renewals, and endorsements via the Cardinal 360 (C360) system.
Evaluate risks and prepare competitive, accurate quotations for personal lines products.
Apply underwriting criteria in line with internal guidelines, standards, and legislation.
Collaborate with the sales team to secure and retain profitable clients.
Maintain policy records and ensure accuracy of documentation before dispatch.
Conduct timely renewal reviews and determine appropriate terms.
Monitor and apply findings from risk surveys to existing and prospective policies.
Identify and adjust unprofitable or overexposed policies.
Client Engagement & Service Delivery
Resolve client queries and complaints professionally and within SLA timeframes.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring a seamless policy lifecycle.
Conduct regular telephonic interaction with clients regarding amendments or new cover requests.
Provide ongoing support and feedback to both internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure accurate electronic filing and record keeping of all underwriting activity.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
Uphold the organization's values and culture in all interactions.
Mentor and share system, product, and process knowledge with colleagues.
Work closely with the underwriting team to meet service-level agreements and collective targets.
Process Improvement & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to all compliance requirements, internal protocols, and industry regulations.
Continuously assess and recommend improvements to processes, workflows, or tools for more efficient service delivery.
Requirements
Matric (Grade 12)
NQF Level 5 qualification in Short-Term Insurance
Regulatory Exam Level 1 (RE1),
Minimum of 4 years' experience in personal lines underwriting
Personal Lines Class of Business training completed
Proof of DOFA (Date of First Appointment)
Experience with the Cardinal 360 system will be advantageous
