The People Administrator will ensure the smooth operation of all HR-related activities and processes. The incumbent will support the People Department and the business unit by maintaining employee-related documentation, supporting recruitment and hiring processes, managing benefits information, and ensuring general HR compliance.
Focus Area 1
General HR Administration
Provide HR administrative support for the assigned business unit(s)
Organise, compile, and update employee records and databases on the relevant HRIS with information such as new hires, terminations, internal movements, and disciplinary actions
Assist with monthly payroll inputs and support payroll-related queries
Focus Area 2
Recruitment and Staffing Logistics
Post and remove job advertisements
Screen CVs
Shortlist candidates, schedule, and conduct interviews
Liaise with candidates throughout the recruitment process
Manage CV databases and talent pools
Complete and submit background checks
Assist in arranging temporary staff by liaising with TES stakeholders, as operationally required
Focus Area 3
Employee Onboarding, Administration, and Probation
Facilitate the onboarding process
Update internal databases with new hire information
Draft employment offer letters, contract amendments, and employment contracts when required
Collate probation documentation
Check and update all new employee documentation and records
Organise and manage new employee orientation and onboarding
Focus Area 4
Employee Relations
Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters
Investigate and resolve employee complaints and grievances
Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to management
Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
Manage employee discipline and performance improvement processes
Partner with HR and business leaders to develop and execute employee engagement initiatives
Assist with HR-related communication to and from staff
Support the People Business Partner with initiatives aimed at improving company culture, acting as a culture champion
Requirements of the Role
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent required
Minimum relevant HR qualification or Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Human Resources Administrator role (FMCG or Manufacturing industry experience preferred)
Sound knowledge and practical experience in recruitment and selection processes
Proficient using HRIS and MS Office applications
Knowledge of South African labour laws, HR compliance, and regulations
