Payroll Officer

Are you a payroll professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for compliance?
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established team. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment where accuracy, efficiency, and integrity are highly valued.
The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of payroll experience, including exposure to expat payroll and Africa country payrolls (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia). Strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of payroll legislation are essential.
Key Duties:
- Accurately process employee remuneration to ensure on-time salary payments
- Assist in compiling reports for third-party payments (e.g. medical aid, garnishees, loans)
- Analyse payroll data to support line management decisions
- Maintain up-to-date employee records and manage payroll queries professionally
- Ensure strict compliance with payroll policies and legislation
- Support audit processes and contribute to audit readiness
- Drive continuous improvement for payroll accuracy and efficiency
- Stay informed on the latest payroll legislation and best practices
- Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum five years' payroll experience
- Experience with expat and cross-border payrolls in Africa
- Intermediate Excel proficiency
- Solid communication and analytical skills
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented team player with strong time management
