As a commis pastry chef, you will assist the kitchen with tasks related to meal preparation, maintenance, logistics, and safety and sanitation. Success in this role will be determined by your ability to support the kitchen's efficiency and safety without compromising the quality of the pastries and confectionaries produced.
Pastry Commis Chef Roles & Responsibilities include:
Stocking checking and ordering ingredients
Weighing and measuring ingredients
Decorating pastries and other desserts using a variety of different sauces, toppings and other items
Contributing ideas to the menu
Keeping accurate records
Operating a variety of kitchen equipment
Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment
Pastry Commis Chef Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; higher certification in culinary arts preferred
1-2 years of work experience in a similar role
Good understanding of food, health, and safety regulations
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate
Able to work holidays and weekends
Must be a South African citizen

Pay: R6500,00 - R12500,00 per month
