Packaging Manager - Cape TownSignal Hill Products is looking for a Packaging Manager!!!Position/Title: Packaging ManagerReports Too: GM SupplyFunction PackagingArea South AfricaNumber of Reports 6 Direct (48 in org)Overall Responsibility:The Packaging Manager manages and overseas the packaging staff on designated shift to achieve operational objectives. Observes, analyses, and researches packaging line operation to develop and implement scientific and efficient processes.Focus Area : Packaging ManagerManage and coordinate all packaging aspects (bottling, canning and kegging) in a highly efficient mannerStart-up and shutdown of utilities and equipmentManagement and co-ordination of all staff on packaging linesEnsure accurate and legible coding and labelling of all containersOversee routine daily maintenance of all equipment and liaise with maintenance for required shutdownsEnsure products meet and adhere to all product specificationsMaintain accurate and detailed daily run logsMaintain an orderly and safe work environment within department as well as entire facilityAssist in other departments or perform other tasks as neededFocus Area 2: EfficienciesMaintain, monitor and improve line efficiencyInnovation and improvements with the primary aim of driving higher levels of staff and line performanceFocus Area 3: Leadership, People Management and DevelopmentSupport and entrench the company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.Inspire and motivate the broader SHP team (not just your direct reports) to deliver on goals and maximize individual and the overall company performanceProvide overside and direction to your teamMonitor staff performance and increase efficienciesRecruit, development and performance management of your direct reportsRequirements of the RolePrevious experience in a manufacturing environmentRelevant Tertiary degree in the food and beverage industry3-5 years experience working in a brewery or other consumable goods production facility.Preferred Skills/CompetenciesStrong competancy with Excell and other computer skillsWork well independently and cooperatively with othersStrong communication skill spanning all levels within the organizationMechanical aptitude for equipment repairs and trouble shootingMust possess a valid driverxe2x80x99s licenseFlexible schedule to accommodate seasonal production demandsNB: Specific duties/responsibilities will vary from time to time: the above list is intended to indicate the general nature of the post and is not exhaustive.
