Our client has an opportunity available for a Production and Packaging Manager based in Potchefstroom.
Requirements:
Matric
Degree in Engineering, Food Science, Biotechnology, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Addition business qualification.
7+ years' experience in a FMCG manufacturing field and 5+ at a senior or management level.
6+ months on the job training.
Experience in Production Supervisory or Management.
Previous technical experience in the brewing industry would be advantageous.
2+ years as a Process Artisan or an Operator on a brewing plant.
Brewing experience.
Knowledge of NOSA, ISO 9001 and HACCP systems.
2 to 3 years as a Packaging or Brewing and Utilities Engineer.
Understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
Continuously reduce costs of production through waste reduction.
Plan, budget and execute the agreed plans for the department.
Ensure that production output fully satisfies sales demand by optimising all manufacturing resources and implementing tactical and strategic imperatives set out in the Company's annual and long-term plans.
Recommend economically feasible upgrading, replacement and installation of equipment.
Manage and control variable and fixed costs, as well as capital expenditure.
Identify profit making and cost saving opportunities.
Maintain an environment within the brewery that fosters equal and fair employment practices.
The development and maintenance of an updated succession and development plan.
Implement and maintain policies, systems, procedures, and internal checks.
Ensure the compliance of all applicable product, labour, manufacturing and safety legislation.
Control all cleaning and sterilising operations in the Brewhouse.
To control all brewing products in strict accordance with the prescribed formula and Procedures.
Control all plant and equipment operation to prevent breakdowns.
Maintain the Brewhouse, and the plant in a hygienic, secure, safe, and tidy state.
Ensure the correct finalisation and interpretation of all production documentation.
Ensure the effective management of costs within the production and packaging budget and forecasts.
