Our client in the Mining and Blast Enhancing Technologies industry is currently looking for an Operations Systems Engineer in Modderfontein, Johannesburg.

Responsibilities:

• Identify improvements in current manufacturing and/or test equipment and manage the implementation of replacement/improvement projects.
• Planning, leading, organising, and control engineering initiatives to ensure future capacity requirements are met.
• Identify new technologies that can be utilised in the supply chain of the company to improve quality and reduce cost in the manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Play a lead role (of a technical nature) in the development of Automation processes across the entire supply chain.
• Guide and provide oversight and technical support to outsourced automation projects related to detonator manufacturing.
• Provide manufacturing insight to projects where new products are developed, or major changes are made to existing products to influence products or processes early in the product development life cycle.
• Lead current manufacturing personnel to implement new Automation and Manufacturing standards for projects that will create a framework of how engineering projects are run within manufacturing.
• Provide technical support to current legacy equipment and systems.
• Transfer knowledge applicable to the company's manufacturing processes and systems to other team members to raise the level of technical capabilities of the manufacturing team.
• Constantly develop skills of a technical nature to be an expert in the field of automation.
• Upskilling of team members.

• BEng in Mechatronics or equivalent is necessary.
• 7+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience in Automation Engineering and development of new systems in a highly technological environment.
• Understanding of electronic system design.
• Understanding of mechanical system design.
• Understanding of mechatronic system design.
• Experience in Electronic initiation and the Mining industry is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical skill and problem-solving skills.
• Able to delegate and manage work assignments to appropriate resources.
• Identifies and resolves problems.
• Analyses information skilfully to develop solutions.
• Displays good decisions making skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
