Job Summary
Our Client in the Road Freight Industry is seeking to employ an Operations Nightshift Manager to their team based in Goodwood Cape Town.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in Transport and Logistics.
- Strong leadership and management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- 18:00PM to 06:00AM, Monday to Friday.
- Oversee the entire warehouse operation during the shift, including security management.
- Coordinate and manage nightshift employees to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure timely receiving, checking, and dispatching of all freight during the shift, with proper handover to the next shift supervisor.
- Monitor and report the performance of the security service provider to the Branch Manager.
- Enforce strict adherence to all vehicle loading and offloading procedures during the shift.
- Report and manage all stock damages according to established procedures.
- Ensure that all consignments are sorted correctly and promptly by forklift operators.
- Manage the secure freight area throughout the shift.
- Perform a final physical check on all trailers once collections are completed.
- Ensure manifests and travel authorization documents are accurately completed and managed per procedural requirements.
- Manage the full nightshift team, with support from the Branch Manager and Human Resources.
