We are seeking a
highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager
to join our team in the

About the Role
As the
Operations Manager
at
Franschhoek Wine Tram
, you'll be at the heart of our transport and hospitality operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless flow of people, vehicles, and services across our road and rail network. You'll oversee the day-to-day management of facilities, infrastructure, and personnel -- maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management:
Oversee the maintenance, compliance, and deployment of our fleet of vehicles and trams to ensure operational excellence.
People Leadership:
Lead, train, and inspire a diverse team including drivers, mechanics, maintenance staff, and other operational personnel.
Operational Efficiency:
Streamline logistics, optimise processes, and identify cost-effective solutions that enhance performance.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all relevant legal, safety, and industry standards (RSR, OHSACT, BCEA, etc.).
Disciplinary Oversight:
Uphold professionalism and accountability by managing and enforcing disciplinary procedures where necessary.
Inventory & Asset Control:
Manage inventory, equipment, and maintenance schedules to ensure resources are available and well-maintained.
Vendor Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality standards are met.
Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of all rail, building, and operational facilities.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in
Operations Management
,
Logistics
, or a related field.
Proven experience in
fleet and facilities management
, ideally within road or rail transport.
Demonstrated
leadership and people management
experience.
Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
Knowledge of
safety and compliance regulations
in transport or tourism operations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in
logistics or fleet management software
.
A passion for
customer service
and the
tourism industry
.
Driver's License (Code 10)
