Bidvest International Logistcis is in the market for an Operations Manager who will be responsible for corporate governance. * Provide in-put into business continuity plan. * Prepare for internal and external audits (Financial, ISO, RCARE, CDI, SQAS, SHERQ, Customer, EC,etc). * Identify and manage continuous improvement projects. * Travel to meet with regional customers * Attend bi-annual divisional meetings *
Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric/ Grade 12
*B.Com Supply Chain / Logistics
  • 5 or more years experience in Warehouse Management
  • MS Office, Warehouse management systems (CW1, SAP, Etc)
*Experience in working in a chemical environment*Expereince in Material Handling Equipment
Key ResponsibilitiesFINANCEReceive information from Ops Admin Controller and prepare financial forecasts and submit to Divisional Support.Provide guidance to the team when preparing and updating long range forecast for remaining financial year, and submit the finalized forecast by the 8th of each month to Divisional Support.Authorize expenditure within authority levels.Follow-up and action over due debtors in order to bring debtors record up to dateVerify and authorize pro-forma customer invoices (OE-7) Wrt: * a) Application of correct rates;
  • b) Ensure that correct invoice methods are used;
  • c) Verify that invoice details have necessary supporting documents attached, and are approved by client;
  • d) Ensure that service provided has been invoiced at the end of each month.
Compile Annual Budgets for respective departments with regards to revenue, cost and business expectations.CUSTOMERIdentify and pursue new business opportunities with assistance from General Manager.Communicate and meet with clients.Implement SLA's with key customers and communicate it at all levels; then monitor and continuously measure compliance to SLA's on a monthly basis.Prepare customer quotations with the team in line with costing model - depending on the level of customer.Prepare rate adjustments for facility specific clients upon anniversary of rate. Review and negotiate required adjustment for implementation in consultation with the General Manager.OPERATIONS INCLUDING SHERQImplement and maintain operational legal compliance with SHERQ Coordinator.Conduct a daily management walk-about of the facility and complete Bi-monthly SHE patrol report.Convene daily operations discussions with departmental heads.On a weekly basis review stock take/cycle count reports and sign-off and report on discrepanciesConduct regular meetings with key suppliers in order to maintain good relationships.Implement SLA's with key suppliers and measure compliance to SLA's on monthly basis.Ensure that all departments are operating at optimal levels and that customer SLA's are being adhered to.Ensure all incidents are investigated and be part of incident investigation in major incidents.Develop and achieve facility objectives, targets and plans (OTP's).OPERATIONApply Team leadership skills to improve staff outputOversee planning operation to ensure good customer service and timeous deliveries.Ensuring that daily updates are given to management and were required action has been takenAnticipates problem areas and ensures that a contingency plan is in place.Source and introduce, where possible, 'best practice' into the facility to ensure a competitive advantageEnsure that the warehouse conforms to excellent housekeeping.Ensure that all POD's and returns are checked and forwarded to the relevant persons including returns on a daily basisReturns are managed and controlledEnsure all required administration of documentation is checked,followed up on and filed correctly.Maintain all necessary records that are related to ISO compliance certification and ensure that records are available
