hands-on leader

to help make it happen.

We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable

Operations & Business Development Manager

who can

set up, lead, and scale

operations in South Africa, Zambia, Botswana and other African Countries.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the setup of all business operations including logistics, warehousing, and cross-border trade systems. Manage relationships with suppliers, transporters, customs agents, and border authorities. Procure and coordinate food and grocery stock deliveries from South Africa or local suppliers. Oversee truck procurement or rental, licensing, route planning, and fleet operations. Recruit and manage a team of drivers, loaders, and border staff. Ensure legal compliance with all South African, Zambian and other countries trade and customs regulations. Monitor inventory, pricing, and delivery timelines to ensure profitability. Identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to expand market presence and trade volumes. Report directly to the Managing Director and act as the in-country lead.

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of experience in trade, logistics, or supply chain operations. Proven experience in

cross-border trading

(especially in SADC) is a major advantage. Strong operational and leadership capabilities able to work independently and take initiative. Knowledge of

fleet management

, FMCG supply chains, and customs clearance processes. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Fluent in English; knowledge of Bemba, French, or Swahili is an asset. Must be willing to travel. Valid driver's license and passport; must be willing to travel between SADC countries.
