Job Description
Job Summary Our client in the Engineering sector is looking for an OHS Officer to join their team for a project in KwaZulu Natal, Kwa Dukuza.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- Full registration as a Professional Construction Health and Safety Agent (Pr.CHSA) with SACAP (non-negotiable).
- 5+ years of experience in OHS management for construction or infrastructure projects.
- SAMTRAC and NEBOSH certifications are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of OHS legislation and safety management systems.
- Develop and implement OHS policies and procedures for infrastructure projects.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections to identify hazards.
- Ensure compliance with OHS Act, regulations, and industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including incident reports and safety plans.
- Train and educate project teams on safety protocols and best practices.
- Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including contractors and regulatory bodies, to ensure safety compliance.
