The National Bioproducts Institute (NBI), a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer invites applications for its Y.E.S Programme. This initiative is designed to empower unemployed youth by providing 12 months of hands on experience in a world class biopharmaceutical production environment.
At NBI, we are driven by a commitment to patient-centred care, innovation, and excellence. As a Y.E.S intern, you will be placed across various areas within our production environment, working alongside experienced Process Technicians, Fractionators, and Pooling Technicians. You will gain exposure to critical manufacturing processes that contribute to lifesaving plasma derived medicine.
Minimum Requirements
South African citizen aged 18-34 years
Currently unemployed and not studying full-time
Grade 12 with minimum D mark in English, Math, Science, Biology
Pharmacist Assistant Training (PAT) Basic or PAT Post Basic qualifications an added advantage
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Life Sciences are advantageous
No more than 2 years' work experience
Must not have participated in a Y.E.S Programme previously
Commitment to the full 12 month programme
Duties and Responsibilities
SHE Requirements
Pre-employment, routine and exit medicals are compulsory due to the nature of the business
Attendance to SHE related training is mandatory
Adherence to SHE Instructions
Compliance to SHE Site Rules is compulsory
NBI uses hazardous and biologically active chemicals. The successful candidate will be required to use proper PPE and will go through medical examinations as per OSH Act requirements
Operational Requirements
Normal working hours are either 45 hours per week, Monday to Sunday
OR
40 hours per week, based on the functional area. You will be required to work evening and shift work in line with our 24/7 operational schedule. Successful candidates:
Will be required to work a 12 hour shift as rostered between 06:00-18:00 or 18:00-06:00, Monday to Sunday
OR
an 8 hour shift, between 06h00 to 18h00 as rostered
May be required to work overtime to meet the business needs.
Must be prepared to work shifts/weekends/public holidays when needed or as rostered.
