Position Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished National Operations Manager for Medical Homecare Operations. This role holds the responsibility for the safe and efficient functioning of all Homecare operations within South Africa. Embracing a dynamic leadership style, the incumbent will spearhead improved reliability and innovation in South African Homecare Operations. Adept at motivating and leading teams, this role is instrumental in enhancing our presence within the market. External stakeholders, notably Hospitals, Medical Aids, National Treasury, and Departments of Health, will recognize the role's influence. Ensuring alignment with the Be Act Engage program for enhanced HR performance and patient satisfaction, while adhering to HR policies within the operations department, is a key focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise critical logistics and supply chain processes, encompassing Asset Management, Maintenance Management, Cleaning, Disinfection, and Inventory Management.
  • Spearhead the implementation of optimal processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Collaborate closely with the Management Committee to fulfil business requirements.
  • Elevate the effectiveness, safety, and dependability of distribution operations.
  • Introduce innovative strategies to elevate service delivery and distribution efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with commercial teams to propel sales growth initiatives.
  • Take charge of 'continuous improvement' initiatives by efficiently utilizing KPIs and overseeing projects.
  • Uphold corporate policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance without compromise.
  • Ensure the utmost precision in inventory management and maintain effective purchasing control systems.
  • Cultivate a safety-conscious culture, fostering compliance among contractors and personnel.
  • Ensure complete alignment with contractual, regulatory, and company policies and objectives.
  • Supervise overarching service functions to ensure top-tier patient service delivery.
  • Operate in accordance with the Group's Industrial Management system guidelines.
Required Education & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree/BSC Business Management or Engineering
  • 7-10+ years' experience in Logistics Management or Industrial Operations within a Medical Operations, Medical NGO or Pharmaceutical Industry Note that the industry related background is critical.
  • People Management (Critical Requirement)
  • Proficiency in inventory and asset management processes.
  • Familiarity with the regulations outlined in the Labour Relations Act of South Africa.
  • Expertise in both preventive and corrective maintenance methodologies, coupled with the ability to devise global maintenance strategies.
  • Sound understanding of auditing and project management principles.
  • Comprehensive grasp of the company's overarching goals and the capability to translate them into actionable plans.
  • Skill in conducting risk assessments and employing root cause methodologies (or equivalent) to identify and resolve operational concerns.
  • In-depth knowledge of mandatory regulatory requirements, codes, and standards governing the healthcare industry, as well as broader industrial operations including Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHS&E).
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting standards, financial reports, and legal or regulatory changes.
  • Effective communication skills to present information and respond adeptly to inquiries from diverse audiences, including clients, customers, and colleagues.
  • Adept at problem identification, data collection, fact establishment, and drawing valid conclusions.

Working Conditions:
  • This role entails a mix of office work and on-site support within the Inland & Coastal regions. Regular travel within these regions is required.
Direct Reports:
  • 3 Regional Operations Managers, Supply Chain Manager, National Logistics to Patients Manager. Up to 30+ indirect reports.
