Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering
In depth knowledge of the SA food producing industry and key role players
Excel lent verbal and written English communication skills
Drivers license and willing to travel
Minimum of 5 years experience on managerial level in FMCG operations
Presentations, public speaking and relationship management
Stakeholder management at a senior level
The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
Regional Operations Managers Oversee the RMs, and ensure warehouse SOPs are adhered to; weekly status meetings; cycle / stock count results; communicate overall strategic goals and develop a clear vision and how to achieve them; collate with RMs to develop/improve budgets; regularly update SOP, manuals and documents; monthly branch visit schedule for RMs; branch compliance audit reports, analyse results and recommend corrective action
General Management Ensure managers are properly trained; improve operations systems and missions; effective collaboration with depts; ensure indemnification; ensure compliance with policies and regulations; together with BMs & RMs improve workflow and implement solutions
Stock Management Review weekly/monthly stock reports and results, identify discrepancies and apply corrective measures; mitigate stock shrinkage and capturing errors; oversee procurement process for stock / nonstock items remain in budget and ensure best quality and prices
Stakeholder / Donor Engagement Maintain relations with stakeholders; promote food banking with potential donors/stakeholders; discuss opportunities; update donors on current programmes; attend events/conferences/exhibitions to promote strategic partnerships and food banking
Financial Management Overall budgets; apply cost cutting measures; inform form regarding invoicing; review / authorise disbursements / payments to creditors
Fleet / Asset Management Ensure vehicles are well maintained; consult with finance manager; obtaining quotes; tracker monitoring; ensure adequate insurance
Health & Safety Ensure H&S policies are in place; ensure service providers are obtained at the best price; training relevant staff
HR Management Ensure LOA are signed, job descriptions are given and code of conduct signed; ensure up to date HR file per branch; plan staff leave in advance; in conjunction with HR conduct hearings, take disciplinary action; represent at CCMA; authorise use of labour brokers; set KPIs; allocate / manage resources; branch visits quarterly
Reporting Prepare reports; MD reports; review reports; conduct various operational risk management reports and audits
Food Sourcing Approach potential donors; promote benefits of food redistribution; meet quarterly and annual targets as set
