Position Summary

:

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented HR Officer to join our team. This role is based at our Johannesburg head office and requires some travel to our branches in Cape Town and Durban to provide on-site HR support, facilitate employee relations, and ensure compliance with company policies and labour legislation. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organised, and experienced in generalist HR functions within a multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities

:

- Provide HR support to employees and management at MIT head office and branch locations.

- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes across branches.

- Support performance management processes, including KPIs, appraisals, and

disciplinary procedures.

- Ensure compliance with all labour laws, regulations, and internal policies across all locations.

- Travel regularly to branches in Cape Town and Durban to conduct HR audits,

investigations, training sessions, and employee consultations.

- Maintain employee records and ensure proper HR documentation at all branches.

- Assist with payroll inputs, leave administration, and benefits coordination.

- Address and resolve employee relations issues, grievances, and disciplinary cases.

- Identify HR-related needs and provide timely solutions.

- Coordinate training and development initiatives.

- Report on HR metrics, risks, and key activities to HR Manager and senior

management.

- Support workplace health & safety and wellness initiatives.

Requirements

:

- Qualification: National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.

- Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in an HR Generalist role; multi-site

experience preferred.

Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, etc.). Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations. High level of confidentiality and professionalism. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HR information systems. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel (company travel costs covered).

Preferred Attributes

:

- Experience in industrial relations or unionised environments.

- Ability to train and coach line managers on HR procedures.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Fluent in English; additional South African languages wil be an advantage.
