We are looking for a Mid-weight Graphic Designer to join the Babylonstoren design team. This role calls for someone with a refined eye and strong technical ability -- a designer who understands print as craft and takes care from first idea to final execution.
The work focuses on large brand campaigns, packaging, and printed communication pieces. The designer will work closely with the Head of Design and a multidisciplinary creative team to bring the Babylonstoren aesthetic to life with clarity, restraint and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Develop thoughtful, brand-aligned design concepts for campaigns, packaging and printed materials.
Prepare precise, press-ready artwork for production, ensuring colour, layout and finish are of the highest standard.
Collaborate closely with the design and brand teams on visual direction and execution.
Uphold and interpret Babylonstoren's visual identity across all touchpoints.
Balance creativity with practicality -- delivering refined, technically accurate work under deadline.
Work with photographers, stylists and copywriters to create cohesive visual stories.
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Babylonstoren's design language through thoughtful innovation.
Requirements & Experience
Minimum of five years' professional experience in graphic design, with a focus on print.
A degree or diploma in Graphic Design or a related field.
Deep understanding of print production, typography, colour and layout.
Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Strong conceptual thinking with a keen eye for simplicity and craft.
Excellent organisation and time management skills.
A calm, precise approach and a high standard of finishing.
Portfolio submission with projects showcasing relevant projects.
Proficient in both Afrikaans and English
Experience with AI design tools such as DALLE, Midjourney, Runway ML, Luminar Neo or Designify will be considered an advantage.

Working Conditions
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, on-site at Babylonstoren in Franschhoek.
Leave: 15 annual leave days.
