We are seeking a highly accurate and detail-driven Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing patient medical records, assigning the correct ICD-10 codes, and ensuring all coding and billing processes comply with South African medical aid requirements, HPCSA regulations, and industry standards.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely and accurate reimbursements while maintaining full compliance throughout the revenue cycle.
Qualifications & Experience:
Matric (National Senior Certificate) ICD-10 coding certification (South African recognised) Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical coding within a hospital, clinic, or medical practice Strong knowledge of ICD-10 codes, HPCSA regulations, and medical aid billing processes Experience with medical aid claims systems and electronic health records (EHRs) High attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and problem-solving skills Computer literate and proficient in coding/billing software
