Responsibilities will include, but is not limited to:
Manage planned and unplanned maintenance on Stationary and Mobile machines
Manage and assign tasks to Fitters and Diesel Plant Fitter
Inspects work for completeness, accuracy and quality.
Hydraulic and mechanical fault finding on equipment
Commission machine after service provider repair work done
Follows work assignments received in the form of verbal or written work instructions
Determines the extent of the needed repair
Improvises necessary solutions as and when needed
Travels from one site to another often in remote areas and unusual work hours
Report to Engineering office and works hand in hand with on-site Fitters
Ensures that deadlines are met timeously
Determines spares and equipment to be used
Inspect Mobile and Stationary machines for defects, and report to Engineering.
Interacting with employees and assisting employees with their concerns, questions or complaints.
Ensures that staff take care of workshop equipment, hand tools and machinery, and is maintained and serviced regularly.
Report to SA Metal Engineers, who will issue work instructions.
Liaise and interact with other SA Metal department supervisors and managers
Qualifying Criteria:
Red seal Trade test certificate or equivalent - Fitter
Computer literate
Code 08 Drivers Licence
Experience on Industrial machinery a must
Knowledge of machine maintenance required and maintenance planning
Knowledge of production machinery and equipment
Management and planning skills
Adhere and enforce H&S regulations
Good communication skills
Self-motivated and work independently
Work well under pressure
Good leadership skills - ability to motivate and lead a team
Good team player
