DESCRIPTION
Do you have more than 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Construction Supervisor and have at least 4 years of experience in renewable energy projects?
Then this could be the opportunity for you! We are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Site Supervisor to join our clientxe2x80x99s team to oversee and manage the mechanical and structural construction activities, ensure all health and safety standards are adhered to, and act as the OHS Act 8.2 in the absence of the 8.1 appointee. As the Mechanical Supervisor, you are responsible for contractor management, commercial support, quality assurance, design and engineering support, and interfacing with stakeholders. The client has a portfolio of more than 3 GW of renewable energy projects that they have managed in South Africa through the development, engineering, and construction phases. Therefore, if you have experience in the utility-scale sector in the renewable energy industry then you could be a suitable fit for the role. It is crucial that you are a strong communicator and diligent in document recording since there is extensive internal communication cross-functionally as well as external engagement with Environmental Control Officers, Ownerxe2x80x99s Engineers, Eskom, and adjacent wind projects. The Mechanical Supervisor has a thorough understanding of construction schedules, oversees key electrical milestones for handover, supports the team with cold and hot commissioning, grid code testing, and ensure all the contractors adhere to their respective project schedule milestone dates. • Tertiary qualification in an Engineering or Construction field (BSc, BTech, or equivalent as a minimum)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 10 years of work experience as a Mechanical site engineer or Mechanical construction supervisor
• At least 4 yearsxe2x80x99 experience on renewable projects
• Exposure and knowledge of multiple project executions will be an added advantage

RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will be instrumental in implementing EDF-RE policies, ensuring safety in project execution, and managing mechanical and structural construction activities related to the PV Plant. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, oversee document management, support quality processes, and play a key role in planning and interfacing with project milestones. Your responsibilities will extend to health and safety, environmental compliance, mechanical construction management, contractor management, commercial support, communication, reporting, quality assurance, design and engineering support, and interfacing with stakeholders.
