Job Description

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)




Lead the implementation of preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance strategies for optimal equipment performance




Oversee routine inspections to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues before they escalate into critical failures

Manage the end-to-end service scheduling process, aligning maintenance activities with operational priorities and equipment lifecycle requirements.

Drive the rapid diagnosis and resolution of equipment issues, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to internal service level agreements (SLAs)

Monitor and analyse corrective (unplanned) maintenance trends and track Mean Time Between Repairs (MTBR) to assess equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement.

Perform and manage Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) processes to meet or exceed internal SLA timelines

Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives when test pack failures occur to implement long term corrective actions

Leverage sensor technology and advances diagnostics software to continuously monitor Cash Processing Equipment performance and forecast potential system failures

Analyse machine-generated data to identify patterns and predict optimal maintenance periods to enhance productivity and asset longevity. Regulatory Compliance and Safety management

Responsible for all maintenance activities to be conducted in alignment with industry standards and safety regulations

Develop, implement and enforce robust safety protocols to safeguard maintenance personnel, machine operators and other stakeholders across all operational environments

Verify that Vendor Occupational Health and Safety documentation are in place and formally hand over compliance responsibility to the designated Section16 site official, in accordance with legal and internal governance requirements.

Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements, to support regulatory audits and performance tracking

Produce data-driven reports on machine performance and maintenance trends, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement

Regularly evaluate and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for Cash Processing equipment, including but not limited to:


o Jam rate



o Fit yields



o Uptime



o MTBR


Governance




Subscribe and align to SBV Services' ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards, ensuring the department's processes and quality management system is at all times in compliance with the standard.

Support SBVs ESG journey, reporting on and managing the ESG requirements to ensure a positive reflection and outcome

Provide workforce development and technical training



Lead the design and delivery of targeted training programs to ensure technicians are equipped with up-to [1] date skills, techniques, and industry best practices for maintaining and optimizing Cash Processing Equipment.

Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development, encouraging proactive upskilling to stay ahead of emerging technologies and operational requirements.

Attend advance technical training sessions on new equipment training, and cascade knowledge through structured training initiatives to ensure team readiness and ability to service and maintain a variety of Cash Processing Equipment.

Organize and conduct refresher training sessions for technicians/operators, reinforcing the correct usage and preventative maintenance practices of the Cash Processing Equipment.

Provide technical support and expert advisory leadership




Serve as the primary technical authority for technicians, delivering expert support and guidance on the servicing and maintenance of Cash Processing Equipment

Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support, offering in-depth troubleshooting, escalation management, and mentorship to technicians for resolving complex equipment issues.

Laise with Vendor Subject Matter Expert when internal resolution paths are exhausted, ensuring a seamless escalation process and timely issue closure.

Lead the development, implementation and management of Test Packs in centers, to align to diagnostic accuracy and performance standards

Installation, Movement, Maintenance and Management of All Related Hardware




Lead the installation, configuration, and deployment of all relevant hardware and related equipment.

Responsible for the timeous execution of all necessary repairs and restorations, maintaining Cash Processing Equipment integrity and business continuity

Manage equipment relocation, upgrades, and reconfigurations, coordinating with internal stakeholders and vendors to minimize disruption and ensure business continuity.

Oversee end-user upgrades on software versions and equipment, to manage compatibility, efficiency, and adherence to security protocols.

Monitor installed hardware performance metrics to verify that equipment performs optimally within agreed


standards and service levels as defined by vendor agreements.



Uphold consistency, warranty compliance and optimal equipment functionality by managing adherence to vendor prescribed installation and maintenance n standards


Create and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships




Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, fostering alignment across maintenance, operations, and procurement functions.

Map and document maintenance requirements for existing assets within ATM's, CIT and Processing -excluding IT and Fleet - to create comprehensive asset visibility and accountability

Contribute to the development of the Asset management strategy linked to key programmes of work

Facilitate cross-functional think tanks to explore, evaluate and recommend upgrades / enhancements or the acquisition of new equipment, driving innovation and continuous improvement

Oversee vendor performance and cash processing equipment asset care, identify and recommend actionable solutions to any issues

Develop and implement equipment-related policies and procedures relating to the commissioning, maintenance and utilization of equipment

Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts, enabling rapid replacements and minimizing equipment downtime

Collaborate with external vendors for advance technical support and the timely procurement of parts, ensuring cost-effective and reliable supply chain partnerships.

People Management



Provide leadership to employees within SBV and provide strategic and operational oversight of one's department.

Capacitate the department by ensuring that the team structure is maintained, appropriately recruited, and selected.

Creates a conducive environment which translates into productivity and high morale within SBV.

Leading the focus on talent to instill value creation for high value contributors.

Preside over disciplinary hearings on behalf of SBV in alignment with statutory requirements and the policies & procedures of SBV.

Be an advocate for SBV's Talent Management Process

Adhere to legislative requirements, company policies and procedures in respect of employment Health and safety practices.

In relation to continuous improvement partner with Learning and Development to identify and possibly develop applicable training material or interventions that will provide future fit SBV employees

Drive the organization culture




Drive the department's values while inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm and commitment towards the mission.

Lead as an Ambassador and executor of Change Act as a change management architect in periods of change to ensure business continuity.



Manage the integration of business units into a seamless end to end solution for customers.

Effectively communicate and embed new processes and procedures as they occur, addressing or escalating matters/ concerns to the SME's (subject matter experts) when required.

Facilitate the necessary presentations, workshops, or forums to ensure consistent and accurate communication is given across one's portfolio.


Minimum Requirements: Work Experience




5 years' experience in maintenance management, preferably with note sorting or cash processing equipment.

Prior experience and technical knowledge of note sorting machines, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.

Minimum Requirements: Education




Higher National or National Diploma in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field: Advantageous

Relevant certifications in maintenance management or engineering: Advantageous
