Job Description
Mechanical Designer
CTS Trailers is looking for a Mechanical Designer to be part of the Drawing Office team situated in Bellville, Stikland Industrial.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical designs, including 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work.
- Prepare and maintain bills of materials.
- Attend design reviews.
- Take responsibility for the technical soundness of designs.
- Perform calculations for materials and weight distributions.
- Investigate technical issues and implement the appropriate corrective measures.
- Ensuring compliance with customer and engineering standards.
- National Diploma / B Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years experience in mechanical design and engineering.
- Knowledge of design processes.
- Good knowledge of draughting standards and manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in the use of CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Solidworks.
- Experience in Inventor software will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
