Job Description
A reputable engineering company based in Alberton is seeking an experienced and innovative Mechanical Designer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal design, excellent proficiency in SolidWorks, and a solid understanding of tolerancing, detailing, and manufacturing processes. This role involves designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies, supporting production, and contributing to continuous product improvement.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years' experience as a Mechanical Designer or Draughtsman
- Proficient in SolidWorks
- Strong sheet metal design background
- Excellent understanding of tolerancing, detailing, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines
- Design and develop new mechanical products and assemblies
- Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks
- Update and maintain existing drawings and design documentation
- Support production teams by resolving design-related issues
- Prepare and assist with customer quotations and design proposals
- Participate in product improvement and R&D initiatives
