Job Purpose: The main aim of the role is to assist the OTC division strategically across the marketing and new product environment. Management marketing activities for OTC, strategic planning and management of Agencies services provision and related budgets Scope of marketing- includes all brand related activities, divisional platforms and Sponsors of Brave campaign and digital The role also includes management of the new launch preparation and all related commercial marketing requirements Key Job Outputs Commercial Marketing: Analyse market data and customer insights to develop targeted commercialisation strategies and campaigns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, channel-marketing, and key account management to drive project success. Understand the Pharmaceutical and FMCG (Health) customer journey and tailor promotional efforts to meet their specific needs. Make data-inspired decisions to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and drive strategic actions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external. Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and good pharmacy practices in all business activities. Manage project budgets, timelines and resources effectively. Enthuse stakeholders on commercialisation endeavours. Develop and execute sales strategies that can be used to assist the commercial sales force, including product launches as well as brand focus sales tactics. Social and Digital Media content review and proofread to ensure content objectives are aligned with the plans set out in the Annual Digital Marketing Plan (Monthly). Quarterly report on campaign performances Manage above the line schedule tracker for TV commercials and radio voice overs. New Product Launches: Co-ordinate and maintain tracker for new products artwork process Oversee the request of new launch product barcodes and prepares product samples for new products listing purposes (NLD Document Process) Supervise the application of new launched product Nappi codes. Oversee internal product item master for review by line manager and submission to IT for upload. Create Marketing/POS for new launch products and oversee approval, production and distribution. Oversee the listing of new launched products on Silo for pack shot and library update to ensure our customers access according to the specifications. Co-ordinate on going update of new launched products on internal communication channels. Create and maintain market forecasts and financial models (P&L) for all NBD prospects. General Tasks: Co-ordinate and/or facilitate the request for quote with Channel teams - marketing material and POS for launched or products to be launched. Creation of Purchase orders and receipting for payment for digital payment services. Maintain and regularly update digital and commercial marketing budget trackers. Managing AI OTC packaging artwork approval process and liaise with relevant stakeholders on Commercial changes and communication. Product complaints - co-ordinate product returns/replacement for new/existing (aligned with the business and complaints department). Designated marketing lead assigned to all OTC Brands on Item Master to co-ordinate: In and outbound supply enquiries Customer enquiries Actions from various departments Artwork, GQA, RA, etc Any task linked to an OTC brand within the organization where the item master is the source to delegate brand responsibility. Manage and co-ordinate the annual OTC MIMS update and production process. These include, but not limited to: Review of existing product listings, removal of products and submission of new product launches. Ensure correct compliance procedures are followed for review and approval before final submission to production.
Required Learning: Tertiary Qualification: Marketing; Business Administration/Science; Paramedical, or a Biological Science related field. Minimum of 2-3 years experience in pharmaceutical Retail Pharmacy sales, and/or Marketing. Proficient in Business Intelligence analytics and using data to drive commercialisation decisions. Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry related legislation, pharmacology, and good pharmacy practices. Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and pharmacy management software. Inquisitive Artificial Intelligence awareness. Strong understanding of the South African OTC market with an appetite to investigate patriation of international product opportunities. Experience in strategic planning and operational excellence initiatives. Demonstrated success in managing commercialisation projects and achieving measurable outcomes Core Competencies: Proficient in Business Intelligence analytics and using data to drive commercialisation decisions. Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry related legislation, pharmacology, and good pharmacy practices. Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and pharmacy management software. Inquisitive Artificial Intelligence awareness. Strong understanding of the South African OTC market with an appetite to investigate patriation of international product opportunities.
