Marketing and Events Manager - Cape TownKey purpose of the roleThe overall strategic brand development and operational management of the marketing plan in line with the agreed strategic business objectives.To lead and coordinate the marketing team in order to meet agreed brand strategies and objectives collectively aimed at increasing listenership, achieving a competitive advantage and sustainable footprint in the industry. This role includes the overseeing of clients-related implementation.To play a strategic role in the overall leadership, productivity, profitability, climate and health of the national marketing team.To drive collaboration between the marketing team, station and all other internal stakeholders to maximise the marketing teamxe2x80x99s impact.Partner with PR and corporate commsKey outputs and accountabilityBrand developmentManagement of brand identity, being the custodian of our brand and ensuring that all marketing messages are consistent and reinforce brand positioningResponsible for the brand and marketing function for KFM and CapeTalk.Development of fully integrated marketing strategies [360 holistic view and focus on the stackable reach xe2x80x93 Streaming, Digital, Social Media and On-Air Broadcasting of Primedia brandsCampaign managementOversee the implementation of Kfm and CapeTalk marketing strategies, including but not limited to internal and external brand campaigns, events (both physical and virtual), digital marketing, PR, above and below the line marketing activitiesAbility to leverage all Primedia assets in order to broaden brandAbility to understand, operationalise and implement the companyxe2x80x99s brand strategies and related strategic plans at an operational levelWork in close association with the station managers and national marketing and events manager to produce and implement roll out of brand campaigns to drive audience acquisition and profitabilityWork collaboratively in association with the relevant programming, production, digital and support departmentsBudget managementAccountable for the brand Marketing and Activations budgets as well as adherence to budgets constraintsTrack and report on budgets on a regular basisRevenue performanceTo develop sponsorship models to assist in the commercialization of brand propertiesTo assist in generating revenue through proactive support of the sales team through development and implementation of trade marketing strategyTo monitor revenue performance on the brandsStakeholder relationship managementTo proactively develop and manage key partners/stakeholders that give the relevant brand a competitive advantage (Clients, Media, Promoters; Strategic partners; Local government; Influencers; Celebrities etc.)Managing relationship with partner agencies and relevant suppliersBuild relationships and partnerships as part of interdependent teamwork and support to all departments within Primedia BroadcastingAudience performanceTo work with programming to drive week CUME sampling opportunities in order to attract new audience and retain existing listenersKeep abreast of and highly knowledgeable about company information, audience figures, relevant research, industry shifts and news and competitor activityTo work closely with the Research and Insights division and Programming to analyse Primex, Rams and any other data sources and assist with formulating action plans to strengthen the brands performanceStrategic leadershipDevelop and execute Departmental Strategies and performance plans aligned to the businessxe2x80x99s strategic objectives.Participate actively in Senior Management meetings, strategic engagements, and leadership learning experiencesEducational experienceDiploma/degree in marketing or equivalentRequired knowledge and experience5-10 years of hands-on experience in media and/or marketingA minimum of five yearsxe2x80x99 management experience at a recognised, successful company operating at a mid to senior levelTechnical knowledge and awareness across all elements of marketing360 media understandingExperience in developing, implementing, and managing a marketing and digital marketing strategyMedia owner experience will be distinctly advantageousRequired skillsStrategic level insight coupled with handsxe2x80x93on ability to operationalize the marketing and brand strategies in a practical mannerLogical, rational decision-making skills with ability to execute and project manage multiple projects and deadlinesHighly professional interpersonal, communication and relationship building skillsAbove-average conflict management and negotiation skillsHands on, practical skill and ability to successfully integrate, drive and optimize marketing concepts across all media platforms (print, digital, film, online etc.)Ability to deliver large scale events through a collaborative approachAbility to integrate and leverage commercial opportunities for brand equity buildingAttributesProactive and able to take initiative against sound business risk management principlesAccountable and responsible for actions and delivery of projectsAssertive and persuasive with innate ability to remain composed under pressureComfortable to work independently with limited supervisionDeadline driven and punctual to over-exceed delivery timelinesPassionate about learning and implementing innovative marketing ideasMature and able to receive and give constructive feedbackTeam player: willing to work cooperatively with others, within the team and across departments, towards a common objectivePlanning, organising and prioritising skillsStrong communication skillsProblem-solving abilityEmotional intelligencePresentation skills/ articulateProactive, takes initiative and drivenAbility to multi-task in a high-pressure environment, with a result driven attitude.Ability to foster working relationships, both within the external and internal environment.Ability to excel in both the creative and administrative disciplines.Suitable candidates will be selected in accordance with Primedia Broadcastingxe2x80x99s Employment Equity Policy.
